Human Health and the Environment

Human Health and the Environment (FPMD 6708) is an elective course offered through the School of Medicine. This course examines, from both a basic science and clinical perspective, the role of environmental factors in the etiology of human disease. In an effort to mitigate the adverse health effects of air and water pollution resulting from coal-based electricity generation, we encourage the development of renewable sources of energy, such as wind and pledge to make our households' share of grid electricity come from wind sources. This will be achieved when, on average, each of the 10 students in the class donates $15 to the windpower program. For more information, please visit the class website at: https://wasatch.biochem.utah.edu/EnvironMed.
